Dr Penny Gay
Penny Gay is Professor Emerita in English and Drama at the University of Sydney, where she taught for many years.
An expert in theatre and performance history, Penny has significant research experience in contemporary revivals of Shakespeare and other classics. She has edited Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and The Merchant of Venice, and her work on performance history has been published in such places as the Cambridge Companions and Oxford Handbooks.
An erudite and engaging presenter, Penny has also written program notes for companies such as the Royal Shakespeare Company, Opera Australia, the Sydney Theatre Company and Sydney Philharmonia Choirs.
