Freya Middleton is a well-known Australian art historian and qualified local guide, who has lived in Tuscany for over twenty years.
Freya has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, with a major in Art History, and a Masters in Renaissance Studies from Warwick University, an acknowledged leader in the field. She received generous undergraduate scholarships to enable her to undertake in-country study in Florence, and was the recipient of a prestigious internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.
Freya is the founder and principal of Freya’s Florence, a travel agency that is based in Florence and brings together a team of expert guides specialising in the art, history and culture of Florence and Tuscany. For many years, Freya’s work as a local art and history guide was recognised in online reviews as the leading attraction in the city of Florence, an extraordinary acknowledgement of her knowledge and passion for all things Italian, as well as her powers of communication.
A popular lecturer on Italian art and history, Freya speaks fluent Italian and French.
